Spring Happenings
It's been a while since my last post - this spring has been a busy one! So let's get caught up on the latest happenings, shall we? Here's what I've been up to since we last chatted:
- A belated birthday trip to Houston, including a delicious brunch with my sister and the epic Houston Rodeo with my college roommate.

Some Thoughts
Do you ever feel like you have so much to say, but don't even know where to begin? That's how I've felt over the last few weeks. And why it's been quiet around these parts.
I can't believe that we are already in the middle of September. How time flies, sometimes. I forgot how endless summer feels in Texas. It was in the 90s over Labor Day and my family spent the weekend boating to escape the heat. It dropped to mid-80s today and it feels like "fall." I'm sure my Indy friends will get a kick out of that, but it's funny how relative hot and cold can feel depending on where you are. I love all things summer, so knowing that sweater weather isn't quite here yet has been a fun adjustment.

Texas Forever
Hello! Long time, no talk. Thanks for bearing with the radio silence around these parts the last few months. As I said in my last post (over six months ago!), God was doing some big stuff in my life. And while sometimes I feel like I'm still caught up in that whirlwind, I've missed this little space and the sense of community that comes with it. So I'm happy to say that TSL is back - with a new look, new posts and a brand new beginning in a brand new state!
Here's what I've been up to the last few months...

still here
Hi, there. I know things have been a sparse around this little blog the last few weeks. I don't really have a good reason, other than, well, just life. This month has been full of self-reflection, life changes and choices, and living in the moment. It's been a good one - but just not one that I've documented much on TSL.
I'm very grateful for blogging. Ever since I started blogging a year and a half ago, I have really enjoyed pouring out my thoughts onto this space. The creative side of me really thrives here. It's been good for me.

puppy love
Hi there, friends. I've been off the map for a couple of weeks. It's been a combination of a busy end of January and the slow but steady death of my computer, Hermie. If you're wondering why in the world I named my computer Hermie, it was in honor of my parent's schnoodle, Herman.
The computer that I had before Hermie was named after this little sweetheart - Herman's predecessor, Fergie.
I have no idea why I decided to start naming my computers after pets, but it's a tradition now :)
Anyhow, I am pleased to share that while Hermie (the computer) has retired now that I have this beauty!
I have been saving up for a while for a new computer and couldn't be happier with my new Macbook Pro. I have been a Mac user since 2008 (Hermie was an old-school white Macbook) and I am a big fan of the new Pro so far. So now that I have a working computer again, it's time to get back into the swing on things on this little blog! Thanks for bearing with me... and stay tuned for new posts (and a great giveaway!) soon.
Oh, and you may be wondering - what did I name the computer?
Lyla, of course! The tradition lives on.
