Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, from our family to yours!!  I hope that you and yours had a blessed and enjoyable Christmas.

Our family's Christmas celebrations began with Christmas cookie decorating (complete with cowboy hats and boots!) on Christmas Eve, followed by a lovely Christmas Eve service at my parents' church.

Our Christmas morning was slow-paced and relaxing.  We had a delicious Christmas breakfast followed by the exchange of gifts.

We celebrated Christmas dinner with my uncle and his family.  They recently moved to Oklahoma and are just a short(-ish) drive away, so it was quite the treat to spend the evening with them!  After dinner, we played several rousing games of Spoons, which became increasingly competitive... which is no surprise given the competitive natures in our family!

All in all, our holiday was as enjoyable as could be, and the perfect way to celebrate Christ's birth.  We were all pretty wiped out by the end of the day, including Lyla - who found the perfect spot to relax under the Christmas tree! :)

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
-John 1:14 (esv)
